Our Methodology

How we rank and evaluate AI tools.

How We Calculate the Score

Each AI tool receives a composite score from 0 to 100 based on four pillars:

Quality
40%

Technical benchmarks including MMLU, HumanEval, GPQA, MATH, and LMArena ELO ratings. We evaluate each tool against industry-standard tests relevant to its category.

Popularity
30%

Monthly visits, user growth rate, and overall adoption metrics. Tools with consistent, growing user bases score higher.

Features
15%

Capabilities, integrations, and versatility. We assess the breadth of functionality, multi-platform support, and unique differentiators.

Ecosystem
15%

API availability, community size, documentation quality, plugin ecosystem, and third-party integrations.

How We Determine Trending

Each tool is assigned a trending indicator based on recent momentum:

Up

Significant growth in adoption, major recent improvements, or rising community interest.

Down

Loss of traction, stagnation, or declining user engagement.

Stable

Consistent performance without significant changes in momentum.

Data Sources

Our rankings are built on publicly available data from multiple sources:

Official benchmarks published by each model provider
Traffic data from SimilarWeb and SEMrush
Official pricing from each tool's website
Public technical documentation and changelogs

Update Frequency

Data is reviewed and updated monthly. New tools are added when they reach significant relevance in their category.
